The path on the Krakow side of the Vistula is busy in the polite way of a city that has decided the river is a park. Riders pass with bags of cherries. A wedding party was taking photographs on a barge that did not appear to be going anywhere.
We rode until the bridges got smaller and the notes in my pocket went soft from heat. On the way back the same water looked faster, which I do not think was true. It was only later in the day, and we were tired enough to believe it.
Downstream of the wedding barge, where the path finally quieted.
